He has spent most of his career client side, with the responsibility of delivering the numbers, which means he has 'walked-the-walk'. Tom's recent experience lies in helping Manchester based tech and eCommerce SME's scale fast.

Tom's Growth Marketing Highlights

Quadrupled Sales at Invision Technology

In his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer at Invision, Tom increased sales at Invision fourfold over 6 years. This was preceded by mapping a growth strategy, and putting in place processes that would be the foundation for growth. Then growth was achieved launching into new product areas, expanding into new sales channels and introducing new ways of leveraging online advertising to drive up new customer acquisition.

Doubled Sales and Expanded Channels for Liberty Flights

As Head of Sales & Marketing increased revenue at Liberty Flights from £4m to £9m over 2 years. This was achieved through aggressive product development and by driving growth through existing eCommerce & own retail stores as well as adding a new B2B retail sales channel which delivered £1m incremental sales in Year 1.

Turned Loss-Making JV into High-Margin Success Story

HPZ was a failing JV between PZ Cussons and Haier of China. Tom joined as part of a new Management Team tasked with rescuing the JV. Over 7 years Tom led an ambitious growth marketing program that involved launching new products, categories and sales channels. This turned it from loss-making into a £120m revenue, £15m profit business, making it the most profitable business unit in PZ Cussons global portfolio at the time.

Launched CoolWorld, a New Electronics Retailer

Tom led the project to launch PZ Cussons into electronics retail in West Africa by launching CoolWorld in 2007. This new retail business, emulating the Currys model, delivered £3m turnover in Year 1 and within three years expanded to 5 branches across two countries.

Led the Launch of HiHo, an Innovative New Mobile App

HiHo was an exciting and ambitious startup on a mission to become the worlds largest service destination. Tom worked closely with the Product Dev Team and led marketing strategy and activities, including regional TV advertising to deliver a successful launch. This is one of several start-ups Tom has been involved in, giving him hand-on experience of getting new businesses off the ground.

Re-launched Global FMCG Brand - Imperial Leather

As the Senior Global Brand Manager for Imperial Leather, Tom re-launched the brand, and re-designed the logo, repositioning to harness the rich heritage of the brand. This helped the brand hit its annual profit target of £15m, also helped by an award-winning innovation project to re-launch the Foamburst sub-range.

Launched Sapien, a Premium Start-up in the Office Sector

As Head of Brand and Growth, Tom took start-up Sapien from zero to one, launching in July 2023. Shaping the brand and business strategies and then leading the launch project team, Tom was instrumental to the launch of this new standing desk and monitor arms brand, centred around sustainability, innovation and well-being.

Launched The Next Movie Star Reality TV Show

As Executive Producer, working alongside Producer Sola Fajobi on his TV show start-up, Tom helped to launch the 1st real-time reality  TV show in West Africa and the 2nd reality TV show in Nigeria. A project of passion, this show went on to be incredibly successful and lasted for 12 seasons.
